Blasting media is Black Magic coal slag, also known as “the tough stuff” for its hardened superior cleaning performance. Manufactured by Abrasive Incorporated, Black Magic is unmatched in appearance, quality and performance that is above the rest of the blasting industry.
Removing Abrasive Media with The powerwasher
At Bwc Foundation after the Media blasting we power wash the project with HOLD*BLAST Surface Passivator to wash away all media, and leaving it clean and ready for the paint or coating of your liking.
– This Chemically changes the surface to a less reactive state
– Eliminates surface corrosion caused by wet metal surfaces
– Removes soluble salts and chlorides
– Leaves no film or residue to interfere with coating adhesion
– Inhibits rust for 72 hours after blasting
We use the finest grade media for blasting
There are two main factors that impact pricing: time and the amount of blasting media used. Things that impact the amount of time and blasting media required that we use include:
– The amount of surface area
– Heavy rust scale / surface pitting
– Undercoating – we can remove it; it just takes a little more time
– Powder coating – it can also be removed; it just takes a bit longer than paint removal
– Multiple/complex surface areas (an area can only be blasted from one angle at a time)
Every project we do has at least a few (if not all!) of these elements, so don’t worry.
“So…How Much Does It Cost?”
After understanding how we media blast, the first question is always, “How much would it cost to blast my project?” The short answer is, we charge by the minute for all jobs. We will not quote by (A unseen Project) send some pictures of the project your working on and We can possibly work out a plane that works for you.
“How can you help keep the cost down?#– We can do a “partial blast” – you choose the areas of the body for us to blast that are most critical to you. Parts you do not want blasted should be taped or blocked off
But we can give you a “ballpark” estimate.
